David (Byung) is a director in Citrin Cooperman’s Commercial Tax Services Practice, based in the firm’s Woodland Hills, CA office. With more than 16 years of experience, David specializes in partnership taxation within the financial services industry, focusing on private equity, hedge funds, broker-dealers, investments, and commodities areas, advising clients on a broad range of partnership-related issues and offering insights into the tax implications of investment portfolio restructuring. His expertise also includes corporate tax and compliance matters, particularly within the asset management and real estate industries.

David was previously a senior tax manager at an owner and operator of global shopping centers. Prior to that, David was an asset management alternative investments director and held several tax-focused roles at Big Four accounting firms. David is also a veteran, having served as a sergeant in the United States Marine Corps, and he continues to give back to the Los Angeles community as a volunteer with the LAPD Reserve.
